Cabot Oil & Gas Corp., a natural gas producer and marketer in Houston, Tex., announced that Paul F. Boling has resigned as VP, finance, to pursue other interests. Scott C. Schroeder has been promoted to CFO to replace Boling. Schroeder will retain his posts as VP and treasurer of Cabot Oil.
- Climbing High:
White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd., an insurance company in Hamilton, Bermuda, named James J. Ritchie as CFO and managing director of Fund American and group CFO for the whole company. White Mountains Insurance formed Fund American as the vehicle to buy the U.S. property casualty insurance business of British-insurer CGNU Plc. Ritchie’s position is newly created because of the acquisition company, a White Mountains Insurance spokesman said. Ritchie was most recently senior VP and CFO for the international division of CIGNA Corp., where he served for 14 years as VP and general auditor of Europe, Middle East and Africa, and chief international accounting officer.
- Return on Investment: Dallas, TX-based finance and loan firm Amresco Inc. said its former CFO Jon Pettee, will return to that position. He replaces Stephen Smith, who was appointed CFO at the end of December. Pettee served as executive VP and CFO of the small and middle-market lending company from April to December of last year. Pettee’s appointment is effective March 1, the company said.
