- We Hope You Enjoy Your Flight: UAL Corp. announced the creation of its venture arm, United New Ventures. Its management team includes United Airlines executive VP and CFO Doug Hacker, who will president of United New Ventures. Hacker will retain his current CFO post at the Chicago-based airline.
- “See ya. Hey, can I keep the cell phone?” Former Ericsson North America CFO Joseph Hagan was named CFO of ArrayComm, a San Jose, Calif.-based maker of antenna-based wireless communications devices.
- Gregory Thompson made it past the sensors to the top finance spot at Sensormatic Electronics Corp. Thompson was promoted from VP, controller, and acting CFO. The Boca Raton, Fla.-based electronic security systems firm is searching for Thompson’s replacement as VP and controller.
- Bally Total Fitness president and CEO Lee S. Hillman was elected as chairman, succeeding Arthur M. Goldberg, who passed away. Hillman was originally recruited by Goldberg in 1991 as CFO of Bally Total Fitness and its former parent, Bally Entertainment Corp.
- “Congratulations from All of Us:” Egreetings Network Inc. CFO Andrew Moley was named president and CEO upon the resignation of Gordon Tucker. Moley will also take a seat on the board. VP of finance and controller Scott Neamand will take Moley’s place as CFO.
