NEW YORK, September 26, 2007—For the second year in a row, CFO magazine has won Folio magazine's gold Eddie award as the nation's best banking, business, and finance publication.
The winning issue was the June 2007 CFO. In addition, CFO.com won a silver Eddie in one of the most-watched competitions of the evening: Best Website.
CFO magazine also won a gold Ozzie for photography among business-to-business magazines with greater than 100,000 circulation. That gold award honored the photo work in "Innocents Abroad" in its June 2006 issue.
Folio’s Eddie awards are given for editorial excellence; Ozzies recognize excellence in design. The awards were announced last Sunday at the 2007 Eddie and Ozzie Awards banquet at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel.
In all, CFO Publishing, which includes CFO magazine and CFO.com, took home a total of nine Eddie or Ozzie awards - two gold, three silver, and four bronze - in a competition that had 3,000 entries. No other publication, either consumer or business-to-business, took home as many awards. In fact, CFO won each of the eight categories it was qualified to enter.
CFOalso won a silver Eddie for the best single-article category among banking, business, and finance magazines with "Numbers Crunch," the September 2006 cover story; and a silver Ozzie for best use of photography for "Virtue Rewarded," in the October 2006 issue.
The CFO bronze awards were Ozzies in the areas of Best Cover (April 2007); Best Use of Illustration ("Pay Dirt," October 2006); Best Digital Imaging ("Measuring Up," June 2007); and Best Table of Contents (February 2007).
"We are honored to be recognized by our peers for excellence in the full spectrum of Folio: Awards - from editorial to design to online," commented Julia Homer, CFO’s editor-in-chief.
