CFOs on the Move: Week Ending August 31

Ralph Lauren Corp. has appointed Christopher Peterson to lead the finance function, effective September 24. He succeeds Tracey Travis, who resigned last month. Most recently, Peterson was CFO of the global household care division at Procter & Gamble Co.

Laura Wright plans to retire from Southwest Airlines and will step down from her posts as CFO and senior vice president of finance effective September 20. She will be replaced by Tammy Romo, currently senior vice president of planning. Wright will stay on at the company through the end of the year to aid in the transition.

Knowledge Universe - United States has appointed Michael Ensing to head finance. He joins the private provider of early childhood care and education from Microsoft, where he was CFO for Corporate Center and Research & Development Finance.

SumTotal Systems Inc. has named Jeff Laborde CFO. He is a former managing director in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Michael Graham has been named to the top finance spot at JMC Steel Group. Previously, he was CFO at Career Education Corp.

FBL Financial Group has promoted Donald Seibel to the posts of CFO and treasurer. Seibel, who had been vice president-finance, takes over from James Brannen, who has been promoted to CEO.

Mike Zani has been appointed director of finance at brand-management consultancy Translation LLC. He is a former senior finance manager of Communications Sector Americas at Microsoft.

Fixed-base operation provider Signature Flight Support Corp. has named Sami Teittinen to lead the finance function. Most recently, he was CFO of Aircraft Service International Inc.

Frances Powell Hawes has resigned as finance chief of American Electric Technologies Inc., effective September 7. A search for her replacement is under way.
