Scott Goldenberg has been promoted to the top finance spot at retailer The TJX Cos. He has been executive vice president, finance, since 2009.

ATK, a defense and aerospace firm, has appointed Neal Cohen finance chief, effective February 13. Formerly, he was president and chief operating officer of Laureate Education.

John Stephens has been named CFO and principal accounting officer at homebuilder M.D.C. Holdings Inc., effective February 13. He joins the company from Standard Pacific Corp., where he was also CFO.

Online health-and-wellness-product retailer Inc. has appointed Brian Helman to lead the finance function, effective at the end of the month. He succeeds Stephen Markert Jr., who has been interim CFO since October 2010. Helman is a former CFO of Intermedix Corp. and of Rosetta Stone Inc.

P2 Energy Solutions has named Chad Martin to head finance. He takes over from Andrew Hicks, who had been CFO since 2009. Previously, Martin was president and CFO of Home Care Assistance.

Retailer Hibbett Sports Inc. has announced that Gary Smith, who has been finance chief since he joined the company in 2001, will retire on June 1. A search is under way for his replacement.

Alan Taylor has been named to head finance at Adaptive Computing. Most recently, he worked at DirectPointe, where he was CFO and then CEO.

API Healthcare has named Peter Goepfrich to the top finance spot. He is a former CFO of Vital Images Inc.
