Timothy Morse has added to his responsibilities at Yahoo! Inc.: the CFO has been named interim CEO. In his new role, he succeeds Carol Bartz, who was fired earlier this week.

Finance chief Michael Adler will leave online travel company Expedia Inc. after a transition period during which the firm’s spin-off of TripAdvisor will be completed. Mark Okerstrom, senior vice president of corporate development, will replace Adler after that time.

Ken West has been named to lead the finance function at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. He takes over from interim CFO Allison Jacques, who will stay on as senior vice president controller. Most recently, West was CFO of Marvel Entertainment, a post he had held since 2002.

DineEquity Inc., parent company of IHOP and Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, has appointed Tom Emrey to head finance. He succeeds John Tierney, who is leaving the company. Emrey is a former COO of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Arthur Locke III has resigned as finance chief of Websense Inc. Chief administrative officer, corporate secretary, and general counsel Michael Newman will serve as interim CFO until a permanent replacement for Locke is found.

The E.W. Scripps Co. has appointed Timothy Wesolowski CFO and treasurer. He takes over from Tim Stautberg, who is the new senior vice president of newspapers. Wesolowski comes to the media company from Convergys Corp., where he most recently was CFO of the call center division.

Semiconductor company Conexant Systems Inc. has named Carl Mills to lead the finance function. He is a former CFO of QuickLogic Corp.

Alexander Frank has been named finance chief of Fifth Street Finance Corp., effective September 19. Previously, he was CFO and managing director of Chilton Investment Co.

Physiotherapy Associates has named Edwin Bode to the top finance spot. He succeeds Andrew DeVoe, now CEO of the firm. Bode joins the outpatient rehabilitation-service provider from Vista Health System, where he also was CFO.

Lourie Zak has been appointed to head finance at PBS Biotech Inc. Previously, she was executive director finance for Amgen’s global commercial operations.
