Bob Komin has been named to head finance at Linden Lab, creator of virtual world Second Life. He comes to the company from solar-energy start-up Solexel, where he served as CFO for the past two years.
J. Scott Di Valerio will be the new finance chief at Coinstar Inc., a self-service coin-counting provider, effective March 2. Di Valerio has already joined the company and will work with CEO Paul Davis until he takes over his new role. Interim CFO and Tatum LLC partner James Blanda will remain at Coinstar through March 1 to aid in the transition. Previously, Di Valerio was president of the Americas at computer manufacturer Lenovo Group Ltd.
Power-system solutions provider Digital Power Corp. has promoted Assaf (Assi) Itshayek to the top finance spot. Itshayek, who had been vice president of finance since last June, is a former corporate controller of Metalink.
Edward Puisis will lead the finance function at Intelligrated. Prior to his appointment, Puisis worked at Dayton Superior Corp., where he managed financial operations.
After four months on the job, Jeffrey Blade has resigned as CFO of Central Garden & Pet Co., a producer and marketer of pet-supply and lawn and garden products. Former head of finance Stuart Booth will come out of retirement to serve as interim CFO until a permanent replacement for Blade is found.
Heather Getz has been promoted from vice president of finance to finance chief at wireless medical-technology company CardioNet Inc. She replaces Marty Galvan, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Before joining CardioNet in 2009, Getz was vice president of finance at Alita Pharmaceuticals.
Anne Munsch has been named CFO of the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts. Most recently, she held the same title at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
Aprimo Inc., an on-demand marketing software provider, has appointed Umesh Singh to the top finance spot. Formerly, he was senior vice president of finance at Ariba.
