Electronic-payment provider First Data Corp. has selected W. Patrick Shannon to head finance. Previously, he was CFO of BellSouth Corp. until its merger with AT&T Corp. Shannon replaces Phil Wall, who has been named CFO of Bank of America Merchant Services, an alliance between Bank of America and First Data.

Fred Schneider has resigned as CFO of shoemaker SKECHERS USA Inc., but will stay on at the company through February. Chief operating officer David Weinberg, who had served as finance head from 1994 to 2006, will add the CFO role to his title.

Northern Trust Corp. has promoted CFO Steven Fradkin to the post of president of its Corporate & Institutional Services Business Unit. William Morrison, co-president of personal financial services, will take over the top finance spot.

John Harvey, named CFO of Coinstar Inc. in June, has resigned from the company to spend more time with his family; he had been commuting weekly between his home in Chicago and company headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. Harvey will stay at the self-service coin-counting provider through the reporting of financial results for the third quarter.

BreakingPoint Systems Inc. has named Jonathan Dorton to head finance. He is a former CFO at FundsXpress Financial Network.

Thomas Conforti will lead the finance function at hospitality company Wyndham Worldwide Corp. Previously, he was CFO at DineEquity Inc.

Sysco Corp., a food-service distributor and marketer, has appointed R. Chris Kreidler CFO, effective October 5. He takes over from CEO Bill DeLaney, who had been handling both positions. Kreidler is a former CFO at C&S Wholesale Grocers.

Retailer hhgregg Inc. has named Jeremy Aguilar, interim CFO, to take on the post permanently. Aguilar joined the company in 2005 and has served as controller and director of financial reporting.

Advent Software Inc. has promoted principal accounting officer James Cox to head finance. Cox has been at the company since 2006.

KV Pharmaceutical Co. has appointed vice president of finance and corporate controller Thomas McHugh to serve as interim CFO, replacing Ronald Kanterman, who continues on as a member of the board of directors. A search is under way for Kanterman’s permanent replacement.

Online domestic horse-racing and betting site Inc. has named Susan Bracey interim CFO. She takes over for Jim Burk, who left the company at the end of March. Bracey comes to the company from Ticketmaster, where she was CFO.

Erik Prusch will lead the finance function at wireless broadband service provider Clearwire Corp. Previously, Prusch was president and CEO of Borland Software, for which he also formerly served as CFO.
