• Chief financial officer Alan Bergman was promoted to president of The Walt Disney Studios. Bergman joined the Burbank, California-based company in 1996 as a director in the corporate controller’s group; he became CFO in 2001.
• Paul McDonough, executive vice president and chief financial officer of BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. since May, left the Natick, Massachusetts-based company after seven months to return to the insurance industry. Executive vice president and chief administrative officer, who served as BJ’s finance chief from 1997 until McDonough’s appointment, will fill the position until a permanent successor is named.
• Auto parts retailer Advance Auto Parts Inc. tapped Michael O. Moore as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Moore joined the Roanoke, Virginia-based company from Cato Corp., where he was executive vice president, chief financial officer, secretary, and a board member.
• Video game publisher Navarre Corp. appointed J. Reid Porter chief financial officer and executive vice president. Porter joined Minneapolis-based Navarre from IMC Global Inc., where he held the same roles from 2001 through 2004. His experience also includes a stint as CFO of Heavy Duty Holdings and as vice president and general manager for Andersen Windows Inc.
• Chief financial officer Liz Huebner is retiring from Seattle-based Getty Images during the first half of 2006. Huebner has served as senior vice president and CFO since 2000.
• Dendrite International Inc., a provider of services to the pharmaceutical industry, named Jeff Bairstow executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective December 20. Since 2004, Bairstow has served as chief operating officer of RelayHealth Corp., which provides online doctor-patient communication services. Previously, he held senior financial and operational responsibilities at Health Net Inc., including the position of CFO at Health Net-California.
• McLean, Virginia-based consultancy BearingPoint Inc. named Thomas McHugh corporate controller. McHugh was most recently vice president of finance, chief financial officer, and chief accounting officer for Huttig Building Products Inc. Before that, he was corporate controller and chief accounting officer at Xtra Corp.
• Wade Davis was appointed senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions for the new Viacom Inc. after the current Viacom’s split into two publicly traded companies. He will report to executive vice president and CFO Michael J. Dolan. Before joining Viacom, Davis was an investment banker in the technology and media sectors, most recently as a managing director, co-head of investment banking, and head of M&A at ThinkEquity Partners.
• Choice Hotels International Inc. announced several changes under executive vice president of operations and chief financial officer Joe Squeri. Dan Head was promoted to senior vice president of business intelligence and strategy; before joining the Silver Spring, Maryland-based hotel group in September, he was a managing director at BearingPoint. In addition, David Pepper was named senior vice president of franchise growth and performance, and Dave Goldberg was named senior vice president of brand value.
