• BearingPoint Inc. named Judy Ethell executive vice president of finance and chief accounting officer. The first major tasks for Ethell, who most recently served as tax partner in charge of the St. Louis office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, will be completing the McLean, Virginia-based consultancy’s audit and filing its Form 10-K. She will report to chief executive officer and interim CFO Harry You.
• Southern Union Co. appointed Julie H. Edwards senior vice president and chief financial officer. She succeeds David J. Kvapil, who is retiring from the natural-gas distributor to spend more time on personal interests. Edwards joins the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania-based company from Houston-based Frontier Oil Corp., which she joined in 1991 as vice president, secretary, and treasurer. In 1994, she was promoted to senior vice president and CFO; since 2000, she served as executive vice president of finance and administration and CFO.
• Wind Telecom SpA tapped Luigi Gubitosi as chief financial officer, effective August 1. He succeeds Marco Alvera. Gubitosi joins the Milan, Italy-based company from Fiat Group, where he worked since 1986 in a variety of positions, most recently as chief financial officer.
• Plainfield, Indiana-based Brightpoint Inc. announced that Frank Terence resigned as executive vice president and chief financial officer for health reasons. Anthony W. Boor, senior vice president and CFO of Brightpoint Americas, was named acting CFO of the mobile-phone distributor.
• Michael Keane has resigned as chief financial officer of Unova Inc. to pursue another opportunity in Southern California. His departure is effective August 15, after 24 years with the Everett, Washington-based provider of supply-chain technology.
• Mobile-technology company NMS Communications announced that Herb Shumway was named senior vice president of finance and operations and chief financial officer. He replaces D’Anne Hurd, who has left the company to pursue other interests. Shumway joined the Framingham, Massachusetts-based company in 2000 and has been responsible for supply-chain operations, corporate quality, information technology, and worldwide technical support and services.
• Edward K. Quibell will join Danka Business Systems Plc. as chief financial officer effective August 1. He joins the St. Petersburg, Florida-based imaging systems company from Manhattan Associates Inc., a supply-chain solutions provider, where he also served as CFO.
• U.S. Auto Parts, an Internet marketer of aftermarket collision-replacement parts and accessories, hired Barry Emerson as vice president, treasurer, and chief financial officer. Emerson joins the Carson, California-based company from software developer Elite Information Group, where he was CFO since 1999. Previously he was vice president and corporate controller at Wyle Electronics for 15 years.
• Recruitmax, a workforce technology and services provider based in Jacksonville, Florida, has named Mark Silverman its new chief financial officer. Silverman’s experience includes five years as finance chief for Miami-based SunGard Insurance Systems, a division of SunGard Data Systems. Previously he spent seven years as CFO at software firm FDP Corp.
• Analog chipmaker Intersil Corp. promoted David Zinsner to vice president, chief financial officer, and assistant secretary. Zinsner has been with the Milipitas, California-based company for the past six years, most recently as corporate controller and treasurer.
• Paper distributor Unisource Worldwide Inc. named Gordon Glover senior vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Matt Tyser. Glover joins the Norcross, Georgia-based company from office-products supplier Corporate Express Inc., where he was CFO of its North American operations since 2000. Previously, he was director of mergers, acquisitions, and divestments for Buhrmann NV, where he led that company’s $2.6 billion acquisition of Corporate Express.
• Susan Ledoux has joined Framingham, Massachusetts-based PanGo Networks as chief financial officer and vice president of finance. Ledoux was most recently CFO of Chantry Networks, a venture-capital-funded software developer for wireless networks, which was acquired by Siemens. Previously she was CFO and treasurer of software maker Firepond Inc.
