• R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. named Glenn R. Richter as executive VP and chief financial officer effective April 1. Richter is currently CFO of Sears, Roebuck and Co. He will replace Kevin J. Smith. Previously, Richter was CFO of Dade Behring Holdings Inc., and has held various finance jobs at PepsiCo Inc.

• The Dannon Company Inc. appointed Tony Cicio VP of finance and chief financial officer. Cicio succeeds Theo Razzouk, who was named vice president of strategy. Cicio joined Dannon parent Groupe Danone in June 1995. Previously, he served in various accounting roles at American Cyanamid Co.

• Tenet Healthcare announced that Robert S. Shapard will become chief financial officer immediately after it discloses its fourth-quarter and full-year results for 2004, on March 8. Shepard will leave Dallas-based electric utility Exelon, where he is executive VP and CFO. Before joining Exelon, Shapard was executive VP and CFO of Covanta Energy Corp.

• Aztar Corp. named Neil A. Ciarfalia chief financial officer effective March 1. He will succeed Robert M. Haddock, who will become chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Aztar. Ciarfalia, who will continue to hold his responsibilities as VP and treasurer, served in numerous financial-services positions before joining Aztar, at companies such as Saab Aircraft and GATX Financial Services.

• Gearworks named Tom Kelly as chief financial officer and VP of operations. Prior to joining Gearworks, Kelly was CFO and VP of information technology for Circuit Check Inc.

• Fifteen Group, a real estate company, appointed Steven Abney as chief financial officer. Abney has previously held senior finance positions at a variety of real estate companies, most recently as VP, finance, and chief accounting officer at CRT Properties.

• Tripath Technology Inc. hired Jeffrey L. Garon as VP of finance and chief financial officer. He replaces Clarke Seniff, who is pursuing other opportunities. Garon has previously held senior positions at other high-technology companies, including the CFO role at Silicon Storage Technology Inc. and Monster Cable Products Inc.

• Sybron Dental Specialties has named Bernard J. Pitz chief financial officer, effective March 1. Pitz is currently CFO of Universal Electronics Inc.

• Alexza Molecular Delivery Corp. named August J. Moretti as senior VP and chief financial officer. Moretti joined Alexza in 2004 as CFO in a half-time capacity. Prior to Alexza, Moretti was CFO and general counsel for SurroMed Inc.

• Cavium Networks named Arthur Chadwick as VP of finance and administration and chief financial officer. Before coming to Cavium, Chadwick held senior finance positions at Pinnacle Systems (where he was CFO), American Microsystems, Austrian Microsystems, and Gould Semiconductor.

• Omnicell Inc. announced that Dennis P. Wolf is departing as executive VP and chief financial officer effective April 4. The provider of hospital procurement and inventory-management systems has appointed James T. Judson as VP of finance and interim CFO.
