Consulting firm Seurat taps Zefer for a new CFO; Canada's Sobey's also gets a new finance chief.

  • Consult the CFO: Seurat Co., a Boston-based strategy and technology consulting firm announced the appointment of James H. Slamp to the CFO post. Most recently, Slamp served as CFO and EVP for Zefer Corp., an Internet consulting firm.
  • Calm after the Rowe: Sobeys Inc., a Nova Scotia, Canada- based grocery store chain, named Glenn Hynes its EVP and CFO. Hynes joined the company in 1996 and has served as acting CFO since February. The appointment is effective immediately. Hynes replaces Allan Rowe who left the company suddenly in February. According to Reuters, Rowe left just four weeks after the company said in January it was taking a C$49.9 million charge in its third quarter after scrapping a key software system.
  • Right on Track: SATX Inc., a Tampa, Fla.-based GPS tracking and control devices company, announced that Anthony W. Luchtefeld has been named CFO. Luchtefeld was previously CFO and treasurer of Communication Central Inc., an operator of towers and transmission networks for wireless communications and broadcast transmission companies


  • Prescription for Success: PanGeo Pharma Inc., a Montreal, Canada-based pharmaceutical company, announced the appointment of VP of finance Alex Del Vecchio to the CFO position. Before joining the firm in October 200, Del Vecchio was the director of systems procedures and controls at Henry Birks & Sons.
