- Game Over: Casino operator Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. announced that CFO Colin Reed resigned to become CEO of Nashville-based hotel and entertainment firm Gaylord Entertainment Co. Treasurer Charles Atwood will be replace Reed as Harrah’s CFO.
- Playing It Safe: Nomura Holding America Inc., the New York- based brokerage firm and holding company for Nomura Securities International Inc., named Robert Rottmann as CFO. He will also serve as a chairman of Nomura Holding America’s new products committee and credit committee. Rottmann served as Nomura’s corporate comptroller for the last five years.
- Switching Plans: The Althexis Co. Inc., a Waltham, Mass.- based pharmaceutical company, announced that Paul J. Mellett joined Althexis as VP of administration and finance and CFO. He joins the company from GelTex Pharmaceuticals, where he was CFO.
