- Abstract:
- The authors of this paper have a single goal in mind: To assist the reader in maximizing ERP ROI with regard to Financial and Management Reporting. We will set forth this takeaway not by tearing down the Data Warehouse implementation practice, but instead by making clear the circumstances under which the source ERP system may be fully leveraged. Let us be clear, for large multi-national, multi-business organizations, the Data Warehouse is likely an excellent fit for Financial and Management Reporting. However, this paper should act as a cautionary tale against supplanting a single or few instances of an ERP system with a Data Warehouse as the single version of financial truth. As you shall see, a relatively small up-front investment in ERP configuration and training will pay big dividends in downstream Financial and Management Reporting.
