- Abstract:
- Customizations not only require expensive IT departments to support them, customizations also run the risk of major rewrites when the core ERP system is upgraded with a new release. Worse, some modifications to a core system may actually render them unsupportable by the original vendor in case of upgrades. Not to speak of what to do if the developer of the original customization has left the company in a downsizing? Using a rule based middleware solution allows an organization to configure systems for operational efficiency by bridging functionality gaps without the need to change business practice, use offline procedures or accept customization. The business rules within the middleware product can be maintained by the user.
