- Abstract:

Once the final consolidation report is produced there is a temptation for finance departments to heave a sigh of relief, but in reality there is still much to do in order to produce the final Board pack or produce the Annual Report and Accounts. The so called "Last Mile" of the reporting supply chain is one of the most neglected parts of reporting.
This article, the third in a five-part series, explores some of the emerging technologies in document management and control that may hold the key to process improvement. The author, Gary Simon, Group Publisher of FSN and Managing Editor of FSN Newswire (www.fsn.co.uk), is a graduate of London University, a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the British Computer Society with more than 23 years experience of implementing management and financial reporting systems.
