Abstract:
A significant trend of the past few years has been the broadening of statutory reporting into strategy, commentary on trends and factors affecting performance as well as novel areas of disclosure such as the environment, CSR and employee matters. In order to meet these requirements organisations have to manage a wide range of data sources, but maintaining data integrity, data accuracy and quality has become a significant challenge.

This article, the second in a five-part series, looks at the options for managing financial data quality. The author, Gary Simon, Group Publisher of FSN and Managing Editor of FSN Newswire (www.fsn.co.uk), is a graduate of London University, a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the British Computer Society with more than 23 years experience of implementing management and financial reporting systems.
