- Abstract:
- The responsibilities of internal audit (IA) functions worldwide have increased substantially in scope and complexity, creating the need for a commensurate increase in the knowledge, skills and expertise of IA professionals. In response to the rapidly changing role of internal auditors, Protiviti conducted its second survey of more than 500 IA professionals to determine how they perceive their present capabilities, where they currently see need for improvement and how they prioritize those needs. Respondents included chief audit executives – who represented the largest group of respondents – as well as IA directors, managers and other auditing professionals who answered more than 70 questions in three subject areas: General Technical Knowledge, Audit Process Knowledge, and Personal Skills and Capabilities.
