AP Compliance Reporting: Unclaimed Property Requirements
Date: Fri, Sep 07, 2012
Time: 02:00 P.M. ET
Duration: 1 hour
Function:CFO, Controller, Accounts payable manager, and staff, tax manager
All U.S. states have abandoned property laws, but with growing budget deficits and declining tax revenues many states are expanding their collections reach to include other unclaimed assets. These assets include uncashed payroll and vendor checks, uncashed refund checks, unclaimed gift cards and credit balances. Certain industries are identified and targeted by states.
Join presenter Tracey Reid of Reid Unclaimed Property Services for her discussion of abandoned property laws and how states are reaching further into your organization to find unclaimed assets. A state audit can be a disaster if you are unprepared but there are steps companies can take to minimize their liability and create a due diligence program.
During this Webcast you will learn how to:
- Identify hidden unclaimed property obligations in your company;
- Recognize unclaimed property audit red flags on your reports;
- Successfully manage an unclaimed property audit;
- Streamline your company's unclaimed property policies and procedures; and
- Establish a due diligence program to minimize your exposure.
This Webcast does not currently offer the opportunity to earn continuing professional education (CPE) credit. We invite you to stay tuned to CFO.com for future Webcasts that will offer attendees opportunities to earn CPE credit.
