Test Your System

Test your system before the webcast for the appropriate configuration by visiting the browser test page. The browser test page will also allow you to install the Windows-based media console.


System Requirements

There are two options for viewing the webcast.

  • The first option is to install the Windows-based media console. To install the console before the webcast, visit the LiveMeeting test page. To install it the day of the webcast, click the Install and Join button when entering the webcast.
  • The second option is to run the Web-based console. To run the Web-based console, enter the webcast, then click the Run Web Console button. If you don't have permission or time to install software on your computer, or if you are using a computer that isn't running Microsoft Windows, use this option.

Windows-based meeting console system requirements:

Operating Systems:

Windows Vista ® ® operating system, 32-bit
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 (Service Pack 2 recommended)
Windows XP Professional x64 Edition in 32-bit mode
Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4
Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1

Browsers:

Internet Explorer 6.0 with SP1, or higher (IE 7, etc.)
Safari 1.3, Safari 2.0
Mozilla 1.7

Display Resolution:

Required: Super VGA 800x600
Recommended: Super VGA 1024x768 or higher
Note: Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition portrait mode is supported.

Computer / Memory:

Data and Voice: 500-megahertz (MHz) or higher processor, Intel Pentium-compatible
256 megabytes (MB) of RAM
Recommended: 512 MB

Other software:

Adobe® Flash® Player version 8 or higher to view Flash content in the meeting.
On Windows Vista, Adobe Flash Player version 9.0.45 to view Flash content in the meeting.
Windows Media® technologies player, version 9 or later (version is checked when the meeting client starts) to view Windows Media content in the meeting.

 

 

Web-based meeting console system minimum requirements:

Hardware: 64 MB RAM
Bandwidth: 56Kbps or faster connection (DSL, cable, or better recommended)
Display: 800x600 pixels or higher

To run Live Meeting Web Access, your computer must meet the minimum requirements listed in the table below. These are minimum system requirements that have been tested and are supported. Live Meeting Web Access requires a Java® Virtual Machine (JVM®) to be installed and running. Live Meeting Web Access may load and run correctly on other operating system, browser, and Java® Virtual Machine combinations, but other combinations are not supported.
