Today in business it's not enough to just manage costs. Finance executives need to demonstrate cost leadership — improving profitability, productivity, and performance through rigorous, systematic, and efficient use of such tools as business-process analysis, activity-based costing, and cycle-time compression metrics. It's not easy: cost leadership initiatives can fail due to poor planning, ineffective communication, unstable stakeholder buy-in, gratuitous complexity, and overdependence on outside "experts."

From this one-hour Webcast, you will learn how to overcome such obstacles and leverage cost-leadership practices to help your company gain market share and improve top-line results. Through examples, you will see how companies of all sizes and across industry lines can apply the principles of cost leadership in their organizations. Jonathan Schiff is recognized around the world as one of the foremost experts on cost leadership. He has helped companies ranging from General Electric to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory realize increased profits and market-share gains by implementing the techniques explained here. His thinking on the subject was published by the Harvard Business School as a case study.

By attending this Webcast, you will find answers to the following questions:

  • What are the key elements of cost leadership?

  • What are the hurdles to realizing cost leadership?

  • How can companies deploy cost leadership to establish a competitive edge?

  • What are the critical success factors in reaching for cost leadership?

  • How can finance spread cost-leadership practices throughout the company?

Each participant will receive a cost acumen index™ survey to complete in advance of the Webcast, and we will report the results during the Webcast. You will also receive a copy of Jonathan Schiff's latest article on the subject.
