This research examines how finance executives at healthcare providers are using--or plan to use--business intelligence (BI) applications to help turn rapidly proliferating data output into useful management information. It recognizes the widespread difficulties companies have with extracting and using consistent data from across disparate information systems, and provides recommendations for building a metrics-driven culture that employs meaningful information deep within the organization.
