|June 25, 2004|
Boston, MA - June 25, 2004 - CFO magazine again was named among the Top Ten magazines with over 80,000 circulation by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE). With five national awards and four regional awards, the Boston-based CFO Publishing family was also among the most honored publications at the June 24, 2004 ASBPE National Awards of Excellence banquet held last night at the Pyramid Club in Philadelphia.
The individual National and Northeast Regional Awards won by CFO, CFO.com, and CFO-IT are as follows:
This is the first year that CFO’s website, CFO.com, has received honors from the ASBPE. In addition to the three ASBPE awards it took home last night, CFO.com Deputy Editor David Katz was recently honored with the prestigious Excellence in Financial Journalism Award from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
CFO itself has won many previous honors from the ASBPE, including 2003’s Magazine of the Year. “Our editorial staff is dedicated to providing CFO readers with information they can’t get anywhere else,” said Julia Homer, CFO editor-in-chief. “We are pleased to see our commitment to our product and our audience recognized by the ASBPE.”
"CFO.com’s award for Overall Web Publication reflects not only the information we provide, but how we provide it," adds Dave Cook, editor of CFO.com. "Our editorial team builds on the monthly issues of CFO magazine with daily news and original, online features. And our technical team continues to design new ways of presenting that content, delivering it to our readers, and helping them make sense of a vast storehouse of information."
The Awards of Excellence program is sponsored by ASBPE, a 40-year-old organization of editors and writers, and is the most competitive in the business press, drawing more than 2,200 entries. For more information, visit http://www.asbpe.org
