We are all waiting for the day when the focus is on skills and expertise. The article is pretty much reflection of the (sad) reality. Most of the non profits I have talked to, the focus seems to be on donations and not so much on the skills you bring to the table to make the operations efficient. It speaks volume about the management, who have board members that challenge them at evey key decision point rather than be a "yes" person.
