There is a long history of consumer technology driving innovation in spite of corporate IT. The Apple II was one of the first major assaults, and it was the folks in accounting and finance that were bringing in these devices. The fundamental issues have not changed, and in fact IT is better positioned that ever to embrace new devices, it's the attitude that needs to change. Additionally, there needs to be the recognition that this support does not come without a price, so all you CFOs need to ensure that IT has the necessary resources to do the right job.
