SEC: Ex-CFO Used Spreadsheets for Fraud

The former CFO used "hidden rows" to keep falsities from hard copy and covered up information by placing it in "white font."

The Auditors?

Where were the auditors of the financial statements in this case? Did they not suspect something unusual in this case? That is the challenge of using spreadsheets that are printed off, versus providing the spreadsheets electronically. Although I wonder where the staff under this CFO was and why they did not question the accounting entries since I am sure they could see the electronic spreadsheets and notice hidden information on them.
