Online travel service Kayak has hired its first CFO, Bill H. Smith. Smith was previously vice president of global finance for Novell, where he worked for 13 years.
The Miami Dolphins has named Mark Brockelman chief financial and administrative officer. Before joining the football team he served as CFO at eScreen, a developer of employment-screening products, and at Ascend Media.
Jung Lee has been appointed to the top finance spot at Conning, an asset manager for the insurance industry. Lee came to the company from SFRi, an advisory and investment firm.
GlobalSCAPE, a developer of secure information-exchange solutions, has named Randall Hawkins as finance chief. He replaces Mendy Marsh, who has resigned.
Glen Ceremony will become CFO of Travelzoo, an Internet media company that publishes travel deals, on June 15. Current finance chief Wayne Lee will stay with the company through the end of July to help with the transition. Ceremony will join Travelzoo from eBay, where he is corporate controller.
Business-management software company CA Technologies has promoted Richard Beckert to CFO. He takes over from Nancy Cooper, who is retiring. Beckert joined the company in 2006 from IBM.
David Lund has resigned as head of finance at Hercules Technology Growth Capital, effective May 31. Jessica Baron, vice president of finance and senior corporate controller, will take over as interim CFO until a successor for Lund is found.
Rearden Commerce, an e-commerce platform company, has appointed Rick Simonson CFO and president, business operations. Simonson served as finance chief of Nokia for six years before heading the company's mobile-phone business.
