About the company :
Our client is a growing hedge fund located in Manhattan. The firm is seeking a senior accounting individual to manage the fund accounting function of the firm was well as oversee the management company reporting. Job description :
The succesful Fund Accounting Manager will: Manage the accounting and financial reporting of the hedge funds. Rigorously monitor all aspects of the reporting and performance of the hedge funds, including aspects performed by the administrator to ensure that all necessary duties are being performed and that controls are being adhered to at all times. NAV and performance reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, including multi-currency investor tranches. Monitor revenue recognition process in accordance with GAAP. Manage and review partner allocations according to fund documents, including managing the monthly subscriptions and redemption process and reconciliation with the administrator. Review and analysis of currency exposure within the portfolios. Review and analysis of daily cash balances. Manage and supervise the preparation of the financial statements, and coordination of the year-end audit. Some tax issues will need to be addressed. Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow projections for the management companies. Who we are looking for :
REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS degree required as well as a degree in Accounting; A CPA is preferred (may be waived if candidate has demonstrated accounting and control experience) with 5+ years of post-public related experience in financial accounting and in depth experience with Hedge Fund NAV calculation. Prior experience with Citco Aexeo system and a high level of Excel knowledge Knowledge of the operational and accounting issues associated with a hedge fund. Knowledge of an array of investing and trading products. Outstanding organizational and communication skills; the selected Controller will be accountable for results associated with the related functions, including oversight of the administrator. Open and questioning nature with strong analytical abilities, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Understand the synergy between operations, risk, finance, and other key areas of the business. Proactive with the ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and multitask. Whats on offer :
