Location: New Jersey
Compensation: To $225k (DOE) + Bonus + possible equity
General Description:
Our client, a very successful Private Equity firm currently participating in approximately $15 billion worth of enterprise investments, is looking for a Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis for one of their “high potential” portfolio companies located in New Jersey. This position will report to the Company’s CFO and will be responsible for 7 regional Finance Managers along with a corporate staff of 3.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, will lead the Company’s financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Responsible for business and financial strategies, analysis of operating results and new business opportunities, supporting strategic and business planning processes including capital budgets, forecasting and financial control models. This position will be involved in due diligence, asset management and maintain successful relationships with the Executive Team Members, investors, external auditors, lawyers, and vendors.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 10 years progressive role in accounting, business development, finance and strategic planning, including core competencies in budgeting and reporting, financial modeling and analysis, capital budgeting and strong familiarity with corporate accounting. Transportation or Logistics industry experience is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 plus years in a senior position, with demonstrated ability to deal with senior management.
• Previous experience with M&A activity including managing due diligence.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization.
• Top School MBA preferred, CPA a plus.
• Solid management skills; a proven leader in training and developing a high-performing finance team.
• Strong interpersonal skills: The ability to build relationships, a good listener with outstanding interpersonal influencing qualities and a natural, effective consultative style. Someone who is sought out for their opinions and counsel and who can forge and maintain close relationships across all constituencies.
• Previous experience with M&A activity including managing due diligence.
*Prefer someone with prior experience in one of the Top Consulting firms such as Bain, McKinsey, Booz Allen, AT Kearney, etc.
• A proactive leader and effective coach who is committed to the development and engagement of his/her direct team.
• Ability to respond and prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
• Effective and decisive under pressure.
• Expert knowledge of Excel and Power Point.
*Prior experience working with or for another private equity firm would be a big plus.
