Requirements
Summary:
This position is responsible for tax reporting for various partnership products at the premier Investment Services firm in the country with the primary focus on private equity funds.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Review of federal, state, local, and foreign tax returns and k-1s as well as estimates for all partnership products with the primary focus on private equity
• Provide tax technical and reporting support to other areas within the organization (including, but not limited to tax planning, legal, controllers, entity group, various business teams, etc.)
• Respond to investors and tax authority inquiries
Experience/Skills:
• Minimum 3-4 years tax experience (some Big 4 experience preferred, but not required)
• Experience with private equity/venture capital funds (including tax reporting for holding companies and blockers)
• Experience with various state and local corporate tax return filings (including estimated tax payments and extensions)
• Experience with Federal 1065’s and k-1s, 1120’s, and 1120-F’s
• Knowledge of other applicable federal tax forms such as 8865’s, 8621’s, 5471’s, 5472’s, 8858’s, etc.
• Knowledge of U.S. withholding rules and familiarity with 1042’s, 8805’s, W8’s and W9’s
• Experience with hedge funds and/or financial products taxation a plus, but not required
• Ability to communicate effectively with various teams working together
• Willingness and ability to work overtime
• Solid managerial skills (internal staff and external service providers)
• Detail-oriented, committed, conscientious, ability to multi-task
• Solid excel skills
• Some audit experience helpful; CPA helpful--neither required
