Corporate Controller

Job Description

The Financial Controller will be directly responsible for financial reporting, accounting, budgets, treasury, financial trade risk, Sarbox and risk compliance.

REPORTING, ACCOUNTING & CONTROLS

1) Review and Issuance of financial statements that are in accordance with GAAP
2) Review and issue management reporting.
3) Produce financial statements and commentary on timely basis in accordance with company procedures.
4) Development and maintenance of all aspects of internal control environment (credit, disbursements, receipts, etc.).
5) Supervision of accounting staff located in foreign office
6) Designing and implementing revisions to comprehensive financial accounting and internal control system.
7) Responsibility to ascertain accounting transactions are properly consummated and recorded.
8) Ensure internal control environment integrity maintained by accounting staff and operational personnel.
9) Maintain budgetary accounting records and produce comparison of actual to budget each period.
10) Follow up on collectability of accounts receivable
11) Review financial results of transactions to identify inconsistencies with facts based upon knowledge of operations
12) Monitor tax efficiency initiatives, interface with tax professionals and councilors
13) Ensure that operational resources are available to achieve Sarbox compliance
14) Provide Sarbanes Oxley quarterly certification



SYSTEMS

1) Participate in the implementation of new front and back office systems.
2) Responsible for data integrity oversight of systems as well as control environment surrounding data.
3) Monitor information technology systems operation for compliance with Corporate standards

TREASURY

1) Monitor and develop internal control environment over cash processes, including international transfers and letters of credit, and forging exchange contracts
2) Monitor cash flows – reporting to weekly forecast to internal Corporate Bank
3) Monitor non-consolidated trading units bank relationships and Bank compliance reporting

LEADERSHIP

4) Participate in Group strategic planning processes
5) Provide insight and solutions to senior management to achieve process best practices in each reporting unit.
6) Participate in business development including writing business plans modeling financials and manage new business setup/integration post acquisition.
7) Effectively Communicate results, issues, status with corporate office
8) Monitor business drivers and maintain positive relationships with front office personnel while complying with process, Sarbox and other ongoing initiatives.
9) Development and maintenance of corporate accounting policies and procedures.

Qualification Requirements:


1) Commodity Trading Experience not required but preferred
2) Accounting degree required and an advance degree preferred.
3) CPA certification Required
4) 8+ years of financial reporting and business management experience
5) Financial modeling and strategic management experience required
6) Big 4 External Audit Experience a must 
7) Travel will be approximately 15%
