Job Description
Description
Global Commercial Bank is seeking a Senior Commercial Banker (Business Banking and/or Middle Market exp.). This position is responsible for effectively screening referrals made to the commercial bank from the Financial Advisor Channel. In short, you will utilize your skills to leverage the relationships of Financial Advisors (FAs) to introduce and refer new commercial banking business opportunities.
In order to quickly and accurately determine the appropriate guidance for a referral, you must have expert knowledge of the broad Bank of America platform including structure, products, pricing and client selectivity. You must also consider risk profile and overall relationship impact. The ability to quickly handle volume and use good judgment are keys to success in this role.
As the primary point of contact for Financial Advisors, this position will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the Global Commercial Banking leadership and teams as well as with Global Wealth and Investment Management (GWIM) and FAs in their market. In order to expand and improve the quality of referrals and increase the number of FAs engaged in the business, you will provide FAs and their Management with product and industry expertise along with coaching and guidance on the Bank of America platform and client selectivity. The strength of your relationships with FAs and GWIM Advisory Management is critical when managing expectations and delivering tough messages.
When consulting on the viability of potential opportunities, the FAs and GWIM Advisory Management often utilize this position as a resource on all items related to banking and business, not just commercial banking. As such, it is critical for this role to act as a broad BAC resource and trusted advisor while funneling volume to focus on their primary goal, generating commercial business opportunities. During this process, you may have to engage directly with a variety of clients including Treasurers, business owners, CEOs and CFOs to drive clarity around their needs so they can ensure a deal is ready for handoff and to effectively coordinate such a handoff as determined by the specific needs of each deal.
This position requires maintaining deep subject matter expertise in credit and treasury and will continually build and sharpen expertise through your partnership with the BAC Market Executives and Client Managers in the Region. Also, you will demonstrate foundational knowledge in other BAC product areas including Investment Banking.
