Job Description
Major New York City based financial service firm seeks SVP in their I/T Expense Management group. The expense management group is a highly visible team who are responsible for Developing and Executing Strategies to Reduce the investment bank’s expenses. For the IT & Communications category of expenses, we work closely with our business partners and service providers to develop strategies to optimize costs. We oversee programs on both supply (vendor negotiations, new technologies, IT architectures, etc.) and demand (cost and asset benchmarking, setting corporate policies, proactively managing consumption) sides, and work closely with senior management to devise and execute strategies. The candidate for this position will possess strong leadership skills and expertise in financial analysis, IT and Communications, and be responsible for: Developing strategies to reduce the investment bank’s global spend in IT and Communications Evaluating and developing business cases to gain senior management support and detailed plans to deliver cost reduction programs Program manage multiple global cost reduction programs Act as the liaison between senior executives in IT, front/back-office divisions, procurement and expense management to influence and drive initiatives Establishing strategic and operational KPIs for all expense lines Producing senior management reporting on projects and programs Staying current on emerging technologies and trends.
Skills - Specialization in Finance, I/T and Business Management. Ideal candidate would have both an I/T degree as well as Finance/Accounting or Economics degree. Prefer minimum 10-15 years of work experience, ideally major Consulting with Financial services experience. Required Experience in Procurement and/or Cost Reduction and/or IT Strategy and Architecture desired Experience in management consulting or business advisory services a plus Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills and ability to effectively engage senior executives in the firm Strong financial modeling skills, Excel, SQL experience required Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase a plus Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet assigned deadlines Organized, accurate and detail oriented Motivated and a quick learner.
