    Description


    Analyze experience, assess adequacy of loss reserves, project future loss experience for various insurance/reinsurance programs

    Develop GAAP/STAT systems and models used to analyze, monitor, report, and project loss experience.

    Perform ad-hoc loss ratio and profitability reviews, including assessment of key drivers of loss.

    Provide portfolio conversion support.

    Support LOB new product sign-off process and work with LOB to peer review periodic repricing studies.

    Assist in the completion of quarterly and annual STAT reporting including completion of certain exhibits and statement pages

    Includes possible appointment as an Opining Actuary or will be responsible for assisting Opining Actuary in creating actuarial reports

    Management responsibilities.
     

    Qualifications


    Required Skills:
    Associateship/Fellowship in CAS or SOA, MAAA

    Strong Excel and Powerpoint technical skills.

    Strong analytical skills.

    Ability and confidence to influence decisions using data.

    Ability to quickly identify actuarial risks in products and procedures and to work to a solution.

    Presentation skills

    Proficient to work fairly independent on the most complex projects and often on multiple phases.

    4 Year College degree (Bachelor or equivalent)



    Desired Skills:
    Experience with private mortgage insurance

    Experience with reserving for credit insurance and/or debt cancellation

    Experience with reserving for Life Insurance products

    Experience with reserving for extended service contracts/warranties and commercial lines

    Proactively builds relationships with business partners

    Creative thinker capable of defining new role and identifying additional opportunities.

    Familiarity with ReservePro reserve valuation software.

    7 or more years of Actuarial work experience

    Managerial experience
