Job Description
We are seeking an associate to assist with the fund accounting, administration, financial reporting, and capital statement reporting of the banks Alternative Investment Manager Selection group. The employee will work closely with the external fund administrators, the AIMS Product teams, Tax and Legal departments, and outside auditors.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist in valuing portfolio consisting of equity interests in hedge fund and private equity funds, direct investments and other financial instruments such as swaps, forwards, notes, bonds, etc.
- Calculate management fees.
- Allocate all fund expenses and fees to appropriate partnerships.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Oversee partner allocation and capital statement reporting process.
- Monitor accounting policies and internal controls for existing partnerships.
- Establish accounting policies, operational procedures, and internal controls for new partnership structures and launches.
- Assist with year end audits.
- Assist with system enhancements.
Experience/Skills:
- Accounting degree.
- Minimum 3 years of prior public accounting experience with private equity funds or hedge funds preferred.
- CPA or parts passed preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and reporting requirements of non-public investment companies.
- Knowledge of Master/Feeder structures preferred.
