REGULATORY ISSUES
High Praise For This Quarter

Tim and I have been scratching our heads over Chris Cox, and sure enough, the latest issue of The Deal (no link) has a cover story that notes how surprisingly investor-friendly he has proven to be. And now Tim has called my attention to the AEI's shadow regulatory committee, which issued a press release today on "Welcome Actions by the SEC."

No, Tim, to answer your question, they weren't applauding a "Shadow SEC." They're talking about the real deal. They like Cox's effort to bring coherence to penalties, his compensation disclosure rules and Reg NMS.

The AEI praises a regulator. Talk about a Man Bites Dog story.
