Maybe Jonathan ought to talk to Neighbor Floyd before filing his copy.

What puzzles me is why the markets haven’t reacted more enthusiastically to the latest news about the trade deficit. Then again, one month’s data does not a trend make, whether in terms of jobs or imports, as Cousin Lex (subscription required) points out.

Then still again, in light of today's date, maybe investors were just superstitious.
