Can hospitals have a Lean Revenue Cycle?

Lean for all processes

It is good to note that hospitals are looking at lean implementation.

Applying leave will improve patients and hospital visitors satisfaction, qulaity health care, effective utilisation doctors and nurses availability, hospital bottom line improvement, would eliminate any waste in the process, would yiled in better infra structure utilisation, etc.

Lean is the way forward for any business success.

Nice Article

This was a nice overview of Lean, but wanted to make just a comment on the final bullet points summary of Lean.

When talking about standardized procedures, even Toyota doesn't teach that everything is necessarily done the exact same way every time. It depends on the context and customer needs.

Standardization is a spectrum, and hospitals tend to not be as standardized as they should be (so standardizing more brings quality improvement and cost savings). But complete standardization (doing things identically each time) doesn't mean that medical staff and other hospital employees don't use judgment in deciding how to do their work as needed.

Any deviation from the plan should be based on customer needs, not just because somebody felt like doing things differently.
