Failure to Launch? Conventional wisdom holds that recessions are hotbeds of entrepreneurial activity, but will this time be different?

The Fear Factor

I love this article's statistics and resources, like the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation's studies and lists of corporations founded during recessions. I'm delighted to see the other quotes as well showing that people are continuing to forge ahead with their dreams and visions. My parents terrified me as a child of the next Great Depression. I've been fascinated with stories of people who became millionaires during that time, like W. Clement Stone. The one thing that I feel most strongly contributes to the success of those who come out on top following a depression or recession is the ability to see beyond the fear, to have hope, passion, a dream greater than panic.
